FAQ on Compact Industrial Autonomous Short-Wavelength Infrared Camera.

Can the temperature measurement of a single pixel be trusted?

Due to the diffraction limits of infrared optics, both optical resolution and image quality are inherently restricted. Since the size of individual pixels is comparable to the infrared wavelength, users should ensure that the target is larger than the camera’s minimum field of view (MFOV) for accurate measurements.

Is DHCP supported by the short-wavelength infrared camera in Ethernet mode?

No, the camera requires a static IP address to be assigned.

Can this short-wavelength infrared camera be used for metals?

Yes, the Xi1M is specifically designed and optimized for capturing thermal images of hot metal objects.

Can the short-wavelength infrared camera function independently without being connected to a computer?

The short-wavelength infrared camera can independently calculate temperature without requiring a computer. It can transmit temperature data via USB or Ethernet interfaces, or output it through the process interface. Additionally, fieldbus communication is available.
